If you have an old fuse box, it doesn’t necessarily mean that it is unsafe. An old fuse box simply means you have old wiring, meaning it will wear out over a period of time. They will comply to the regulations that were legal standard at the time of installation. Hence, if installed a while back, the regulations will be out of date. New installations must comply with the current BS7671 17th edition. From January 2019 all new installations will need to comply with the 18th edition.
